At the loosest hole this holds an instep of 60 mm. At the tightest it closes down to 44 mm. Two straps, 2.0 cm of travel each across 5 holes.
Adjustable styles are worth trying at the loosest hole first. Tighten one hole at a time until the foot stops moving, and stop there.
Going up a size makes the sandal longer, not taller. It will not fix a tight instep — the strap anchor points move forward, not upward.

Three things to know before you buy
One · where this pair can rub

Across the top of the instep
The strap crosses the highest point of your foot. If your instep is near the upper end of this style's range, the strap sits under tension there for the whole wear.
What reduces it: Loosen one hole and check the strap can still hold the foot. If it already sits at the loosest hole, this style is at its limit for your instep — an anti-rub pad under the strap will reduce friction but will not create height.

Along the back heel edge
The rear edge of the footbed meets the heel at an angle while the leather is still firm.
What reduces it: The edge rounds off with wear. Until it does, an oval anti-rub pad on the heel edge — not on your skin — takes the contact.
Two · break-in
Two things break in here: the straps soften over 3–5 wears, and your own step adapts to the heel over about the same number.
Leather Strap Softener — USD 28Three · barefoot wear
Worn barefoot, the footbed takes sweat directly. Wipe it with a barely damp cloth after each wear and let it dry away from direct sun. The leather will darken where the ball of your foot and heel sit — that is patina, and it is a characteristic of unfinished leather, not a fault.
